Our Story:
Jen & Michelle shared a loved of cake decorating and teamed up in 2004 to open Cakes By Design in Barrie, Ontario. With over 50 years of combined custom cake experience, our ‘little’ cake store has grown into an international phenomenon with featured stories in the Toronto Star and other mainstream media.
The overwhelming success of the in-store classes have inspired us to offer the same great sessions in an interactive online version, sharing our knowledge world wide.

Our Mission:
At Cakes By Design our passion is creating unique and custom desserts to delight and enhance our customer’s personal experience. We believe in sharing our wealth of knowledge in cake artistry to educate and inspire fellow artisans and cake enthusiasts alike.

Our Commitment:
At CBD it is the goal of our team of cake and sugar artists to work within your budget to help you design/create/craft that extra special cake that you will remember for years to come.  (Each cake artist brings their own unique creativity to each design.)  We welcome photos of cakes created by others to use as ideas for your design. In the same way that an autograph is unique to each person, a cake will be unique to the artist who has created it using their (specific) recipes, methods and tools.

Allergy Note:
At CBD we are a 100% peanut and tree nut free facility. We can also make some products without the use of eggs, milk or gluten, however we cannot guarantee products to be free from these ingredients as they are on the premise and used in other products.
